Comicon 2007

Wow. What can I say. Comicon was a lot of fun this year. I met so many great people, and saw so much great art. I made a lot of great contacts and left San Diego with some really cool new friends. I also think I have a clearer understanding of what I want to do with my art. What an amazing time huh?

Left to Right, Front Row: Stephen McCranie, Me, Tony Canepa, Kim Herbst. Back Row: John Trauscht, Stephen Nanney, Sarah Mensinga, and Greg Hardin.

I picked up some great stuff, and here is most of it. There were so many talented artists, it was painful having to choose which books NOT to buy.

Thanks to all of the friendly people that I met, and my apologies to the people I ended up missing. Also, if anybody wants one of the post cards I brought to the show, drop me a line and I will see what I can do to get you one.

More art to be posted soon... for now I will get back to work.

Rough Guys

I have been so busy lately, that the only personal art I have been able to do are small warm up drawings. This is a rough idea I have for the next Drawergeeks. The theme is "Henchmen" and I think it will be fun. It is vague enough to let some of the talented artists over there have a ball. I have a very stylized direction I would like to take this piece... we will see if I have enough lunch breaks to go around.

Also, I leave for the San Diego next week, and can't wait. Eating, sleeping, breathing art geekiness.
Bring it on.

Now back to work.

The Postcard

So this is where the postcard ended up. I had to do it quickly, but I think it came out ok. I only hope they help me out with the printing. It is so dark, if it prints badly I am screeeeeewed. But, here is hoping! I plan on having them at Comicon next week so if you are there, and want one... hit me up. (Please Mr. Mailman get them to me on time!)

As usual, I have procrastinated on everything that I wanted to have printed for the con... which means I won't be bringing much. I will be ok though, and do what I need to get done. I am really looking forward to it.

Onward!

Awwwww...

Well... see... I have a daughter now. I have to draw cute little girly doodles every once in a while.

Don't expect many.
Back to drawing very manly things.

Cavemen Need Robots Too

Sortof a re-tread. I did this sketch a while back for Drawergeeks, but just recently splashed some color on it. And hey, it gives me something to post.

Thanks for all of the kind words to those of you who comment. It means a lot.

Postcard Creeping Forward

This is the scene I am putting together for a postcard mailer. I haven't gotten that far with it, but I was going through picking out a few light sources. It has a long way to go, but this should be a fun scene.

Now back to work.

Simpsontacular

Over at the Simpson's Movie site you get the chance to create yourself as a Simpson's character. Why would you NOT try that? Of course, I had to add a few things, but it does sorta look like me.

Wacked Out Insane Bunny

I was doodling an idea for Drawergeeks this week.... and it just went nuts. I have a less insane idea I would like to do. If I have time.

Back At It

Hello again. I am able to now sit down at my desk, and work a little bit. It has been very busy around here as of late, but today is my first attempt to get back into some sort of routine. Mom and the baby are doing well, so I am back to work.

On a small note of goodness... I re-worked my website, and it should be up and running. JeremyVanhoozer.com is now living and breathing. Nothing huge, but it is there for all to see. I need to make adjustments, add files, and shrink a few things down... but it is getting there.

I will post some newness soon. Like, tomorrow.
